Heart blockage is one of the symptoms of coronary artery disease. If the muscle present in the heart could not receive oxygen the person experiences pain which is termed as angina. The complete heart blockage leads to the death of the patient. If any one of the arteries is damaged, the body can not support to provide enough supply of blood to the heart and needs to make more efforts to supply blood. The person at that moment suffers pain i.e, heart blockage. The pain never lasts for more than five minutes and can be experienced in various places around the heart. Severe heart blockage needs an open heart surgery. In case of minor blockages the doctor prefers stents first to recover the patient.

The high cholesterol levels in the arteries result in heart blockages. When a person gets a heart blockage he normally gets the pain in the left side of the chest and also can be spread to back, arms and throat. The person feels breathlessness, gets sweating, nausea or dizziness. Heart blockage can be caused due to various reasons like physical strain, emotionally upset with any mishap or because of feeding the stomach too much. Stress control program prevents heart blockage to a great level. Heart attacks can be experienced by any person immaterial of age and time. Problems related  to heart should never be ignored as they are dangerous and the person may get a paralysis or brain stroke if neglected.

Heart blockages can be detected by your doctor with a usual test called electrocardiogram which helps to record the hearts electrical activity. The heart beat and rhythm can be seen to diagnose the heart blockage. In some other cases doctors prefer to go for electrophysiology studies. A flexible wire may be passed through a vein in your arm or upper thigh to your heart to record the heart's electrical signals and diagnose the related problem.

We need to practice a healthy lifestyle to be fit and be away from such heart blockages. It is better to avoid smoking and drinking as it damages the heart and lungs. People are more prone to heart blockages due to lack of excercise and improper way of food consumption. A person needs a balanced diet which consists of protiens, minerals, vitamins and carbohydrates to maintain a healthy body and prevent any health problems. Proper intake of fruits and vegetables keeps the heart strong and provides enough sodium, potassium and calcium to the human body. Saturated intake of fats can be replaced by olive oil which is good for your heart. Healthy heart is the way to a healthy life.
